A call came from the planet of the purple for help: the fleet of chaos robbers appeared in orbit and began the siege. The news itself is alarming, but she scared the inquisitor much more. He then knew that the purpler became a repository for one of the artifacts of the same race that created black -stone fortresses. The device, called by the unknown fantasier with the hand of darkness, was true to the traditions of its creators: its purpose and methods of application remained a complete secret. It is not surprising that in the end he was thrown into the repository on an unremarkable planet.

Before the squadron led by Horst managed to arrive at the Purgatory, it was too late. The hand of darkness was captured by heretics and taken away in an unknown direction. But the inquisitor knew that the hand was not the only artifact in the hands of the Imperium. Another relic from the same set, the eye of the night, was on the planet of Ornsworld, the pastoral world of dwarf-ratings.

Suspicions were true. Ornsworld really became the next purpose. And again the imperial fleet did not have time to react quickly enough. The second artifact was in the grip of the forces of Chaos.

All these sad events can easily be changed in Battlefleet Gothic: Armada. For the Admiral Spyra Purgatoria and Ornsworld, who received the increase, they become the first serious operations (and for us, as players – continuing training), and he has every chance to win in battle for at least one, at least another relic.

But this will not lead to any complete change of history, which is wrong from all sides – but more on that later.

Soon the clouds thickened over the Gothic sector not only in a figurative sense. The warp storm, interfering with interstellar navigation surrounded the entire sector stars. And if it was still possible to move inside, then all the connection with the Imperium was practically stopped. Alarming signs, mysterious deaths of patrols, and now the storm arose so successfully. The combat fleet of the sector began to prepare for the dark future.

Two times before the war, the servants of the Golden Throne were late for key events. As you know, this regrettable bowl did not pass them this time: it was too late to prepare, the enemy was already here.

The onset of darkness

“These dark times require decisive actions. If we do not act courageously and with faith in the emperor, we will expire with blood for ten years and the entire sector will fall into the claws of chaos.”

In the very first days of the war, it became clear who leads this army. Abaddon Raisher, one of the main leaders of chaos, again went beyond the Oy and prepared to personally head the military campaign.

The warrior of Chaos clearly knew something from the history of the ancient Terra, because in the early days of the war the Imperial Fleet collided with his analogue of the Perl-Harbor catastrophe. The small and inconspicuous squaders of the raiders of Chaos went into the depths of the imperial space and struck the bases of the Gothic military fleet. Dozens of ships burned in the docks without having time to give a single volley, they were even more damaged that they had to repair a couple of years.

In the orbit of Orara, thanks to a happy coincidence, the squadron under the command of Captain Comrade Basta was preparing for departure at the moment when the enemy fell on the planet. Only thanks to this, the Chaosites, waiting for the defenseless targets, were thrown back.

Among the defenders of Orara was Admiral Spyre. His squadron was based on the port of the MOU, but he managed to reach the planet in time and help the besieged. Well or not help. For at that time, Spyra could still contrast Little and Weak Fleet with numerically and qualitatively superior forces of chaos.

It is worth mentioning that Captain Abridal first appeared in the squadron of the planet’s defenders for the first time. This somewhat self -confident captain of the fleet will meet with Spyr several times in the key moments of the history of the Gothic War and play a major role in the denouement of history. But these are still spoilers, so we will leave the topic.

Pirates were not very rare in the Gothic sector, but attracted by the war, they became a real scourge for all sides of the conflict. Green -legged corsars robbed everything that was poorly raised, and all the rest was unscrewed and still robbed. The arrogant witty Eldars on their ghostly ships appeared from nowhere and disappeared into nowhere, often taking with them everything more or less valuable. And even the most ordinary people, who did not join the forces of Chaos, or to the forces of the Imperium, decided that their moment came to cash in due to other people’s suffering.

Due to the regularly falling supply lines, Blitzkriga Abaddon began to slow down until in the end he stopped completely. There was a case when an entire advancing squadron hit the spindle of orc pirates, and climbed almost in full force.

Armada scattered into smaller fleets, and each of them began to rob the fact that he had to. Discipline (and its absence) as always became the main problem of heretics. But the ruin was not worried. He still had cards in his arms, and he continued the party.

Two fortresses

The RBO system was one of the supporting points of the forces faithful to the emperor. All because of the black-stone fortress IV. The ancient guns of the station surpassed everything that was at the disposal of mankind, and even alone the fortress could burn medium -sized fleet.

It is not surprising that the defenders accepted the approach of the warrior fleet with gloomy determination. Yes, the Armada Armada was great, but even at the worst outcome, they would have to wash themselves with blood in the battle for the fortress.

But there was no battle. The station disconnected in a moment of the appearance of the first chaos of chaos in the defeat zone. “Hour of execution” by Gordon Renny is a book about the events of the Gothic War, told on behalf of the crew of the star cruiser “Lord Solar Maharius”. News about the fall of the fortress IV and Savaven find Admiral Spyra already a post-fact, but in the battle for fortress VI he takes an active part. Valdez and his scouts also fight on our side.

Unfortunately, the fate of the compartment and the sixth fortress does not change. Even if we defeat the battle, some time after the departure of the squadron of Spider Abaddon again attacked the fortress, and this time succeeded.

Inquisitor Horst, who finished his investigation at that time, realized what kind of mysterious weapon that turned off the black -stone fortresses at a distance. Undoubtedly these were stolen artifacts, the hand of darkness and the eye of the night. The Inquisitor shared his suspicions with Lord Ravensburg, and soon they began to prepare an action plan.

The last success of Abaddon was the capture of the black -stone fortress I in the Fularis system. In fact, the fact that it was captured turned out a few years later, and at that time it was clear that the defenders of the system suddenly fell silent sharply. Rescuers who arrived at the place discovered the planet Fularis II with a blown atmosphere, fragments of the ships of the garrison and not a single trace of the fortress. Later, thanks to the diary of one of the Imperial officers who died in battle, it was possible to find out that the second planet of the system died from the simultaneous volley of two black -stone fortresses that combined the ray of their main calibers into one. In other times, such tricks would make hearts tremble, but after all that was previously nobody led the ear. Just a new superweapon at the enemy, Eka Nonvidal ..

But Abaddon also came to the end of power. Blitzkrieg took his strength from him, and now even he had to retreat to lick his wounds. For 7 long years, Imperium received a break. So that period of the war began, which can be described in one line: on the Gothic front without changes.

There really comes the moment when Spyra is forced to mainly dangle according to randomly generated non-aggregate operations, but several important events still happen. One of them is the proposal of the Eldar Prince of Corsarers about the world. Eldars themselves realized that the current invasion of chaos was not a joke, and the only not really A chance to win an alliance between xenos and people faithful to the emperor

The choice, as always, falls on the shoulders of Spyra and the player, but from the subsequent events of the Laura it will become clear that most likely the option with the conclusion of the union will be correct.

Inquisitor Khorst, who became the closest adviser to the commander of the Rivensburg, advocated in every possible way for decisive actions instead of a dull sitting in the siege. But before starting a large -scale counterattack, it was necessary to end minor problems.

The first step on the path of the new war strategy was the defeat of the main pirate base in the Barbarus Costa system. The local confederation of two dozen pirate groups felt like real kings of space. In their opinion, everyone was engaged in war with each other, and an honest hard worker under the banner of a cheerful Roger could create that he would like to. For example, the convoy flies past. Ordinary, unremarkable prey near the free station. Ah yes rob him not to walk?

To their great regret, the convoy turned out to be a trap. Imperial ships standing in an ambush immediately hit the pirate fleet. And then calmly walked in their foot. Organized piracy, like power, ceased to exist, and at least for some moment about the safety of the rear could not be worried.

The next step of Rivevensburg was the gathering of forces for the general battle. Almost all ships were recalled from defensive lines to create a single fist. The goal was chosen – one of the small fleets of chaos. True, except in comparison with all the forces available to Abaddon, so numerically he was quite equal to the fact that he could put up the Gothic combat fleet.

At first it seemed that the chaosites were frightened. Avoiding the battle, the high -speed ships of Chaos actively maneuvered and evaded any clash. Finally, the fugitives were caught in the hefsiman system.

But it turned out to be a trap. All this time, the Fleet of the heretics went to connect with their neighbors, and now their united forces exceeded the fleet of Ravensburg almost 2 to 1. The vanguard of the Imperials was very beaten, but it was too late to dodge the battle.

The battle of Gepsimania began – the key battle of the whole war, and the largest clash in general in the history of the Gothic war. The seventeen battleships of the Imperium, led by the flagship of the Lord Admiral, opposed almost thirty traitors similar to the tonnage of ships. Lists of the participant trifles and was completely approaching several dozens on both sides.

The fire power was entirely on the side of the apostates, and they perfectly understood it. Having lined up for the attack, the chaos flotilla went to a simple frontal offensive, without cunning maneuvers and surprises. Why try if victory is almost in their pocket?

Fortunately for the defenders of the Gothic sector, Cornelius von Ravensburg received his title not for beautiful eyes and not for the length of service. Having placed his fleet in the orbit of the planet Gepsimania II, he took advantage of the dust clouds located there. Before the ships of the heretics were able to reach the distance of fire, small but maneuverable frigates standing all this time in ambush. An unexpected attack mixed the advancing orders of the fleet, and forced the Chaosites to switch their attention to a new goal. This hitch was enough. Heavy imperial ships, turning on the engines at full power, broke directly into the enemy constructions center. The frigates even almost did not have time to suffer losses, because Eve Online expressed himself in the language of the Navy: “To who the Inter surrendered to hell, when such crap welded to zero?”

Chaos ships are much faster than imperial, and at a long distance their fire power is higher. But the Lord Admiral of the Imperial Fleet imposed his enemies to his enemies at a super-fluid distance, where the weak armor of the traitors could do not contrast the volleys of the heavy ship’s guns of the Empire. The losses went on both sides, but it soon became clear – the battlefield for the righteous.

But in an instant, his anger was replaced by panic. From nowhere, right on the waste path, notes of unidentified ships began to arise one after another. The Eldar Fleet, who had hitherto fighting against all, performed on the same side with the Imperials.

The massacre began. The Eldar Fleet Archivar, clamped between the hammer of the Imperium and the anvil, ceased to exist.

The epic battle, where the chances passed from hand to hand several times and on the outcome of which the fate of the whole sector in the game depended … it turned out to be very modest. Unfortunately, restrictions on the game itself, not allowing the player to set too big forces come into business. Even the largest fleet of Spyra would hardly have been a quarter of the forces that Rainvensburg brought according to the lists of ships. And we learned about participating in the battle of Eldar after the battle, in the future of the jungle.

It’s a shame. What could be one of the most striking moments of the whole game was just another ordinary battle, with a slightly large number of enemies on the map.

Battle of Gepsimania became an absolute victory. For the first time in a long time, the people of the Gothic sector felt hope for victory. The massive influx of volunteers in the guard and fleet began. Demoralized chaosites began several more sensitive defeats, and the balance of power to roll towards the loyalists.

And, as if it were not enough, fate played another evil joke with Abaddon. The warp-storm, who had hitherto holding the Gothic sector in isolation, ended. Now at any moment reinforcements from all over the Imperium could arrive here.

The battle for Tarantis turned out to be short, but fierce. At the decisive moment of the battle, Abaddon showed the light a view of the three activated black -stone fortresses. The relics of the two were enough to burn the planet, the volley at the same time achieved three even more. Under their shelling, the system of the system became unstable. It remained a few days before she became supernova. The fleets of both sides immediately escaped from the doomed system. A month later, the Tarantis system disappeared into the flames of the cataclysm.

Now reinforcements had to make a big hook to get into the sector, and the ruin had the necessary time to apply their attacks. Six months, the chaos fleet played in cat mouse with the united forces of Rayvensburg and Eldar. And again, as it was with the fortress VI, luck smiled at the owners of the field. The Abaddon fleet was discovered on the march to the Schindelheyst system, the whereabouts of the black -stone fortress v.

Three fleets came together in the confrontation. And despite all the resistance, despite all the anger – the forces of chaos lost. Numerical and fire superiorities were not on his side. The last chance to capture at least another fortress was lost.

Of course, Admiral Spyr was among those who fought in the last battle with the ruin. And unlike Gepsimania, the battle of Schindelgeist has become the sip of Epica, which was required by the game on Warhammer 40,000. The battle right in the crown of the star, a huge scale, the clash of almost all the game fractions, with the exception of the orcs who had retired from the confrontation, was swearing by the emperor, it was a worthy finale.

Now it was not about the last robbery, but about at least leave with what is. The warrior ordered his three fortresses to repeat the maneuver with an explosion of a star. The game was developed by a student (at the time of development) from Slovakia Joseph Pavelka and originally conceived as homework on RPG-Maker, but later the project grew and by the end of the development was replaced by the engine. Two things inspired the Joseph project:

Yes, the pavil sometimes behaves like an asshole and drinks abundantly, but behind this shirmas lies a good person who sincerely loved his wife (throughout almost the whole adventure his motivation is only on her and is fixed), and he is imbued with a friendly sympathy and by the end of the game of the mountain is ready to turn off for the sake of his salvation. But there is one problem – it is not always clear whether the quest will affect the plot or not. So, at the first passage, I did not go one quest, not understanding where to go, and only then it turned out that this particular quest saved the baron from death, although it was not connected with it in any way. But since the game by that time had already hooked me, I planned the second passage with all the quests. So we will write this moment in a controversial, but still in a good reason for rehed.
