Augusta Housing Authority and the United Way
1st Annual June Jaunt
The Augusta Housing Authority is constantly faced with the needs for assistance here in the Augusta-Richmond County area and has had a long partnership with the United Way of the CSRA.
Because the needs of assistance have increased so much this year, the Augusta Housing Authority organized a Walk/Run for their employees to encourage additional fundraising. The event took place on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 8:00 a.m. at Lake Olmstead. All monies raised through this event are direct donations to the United Way. (No expenses.) Employees volunteered their time and efforts.
Through the generous contributions from sponsors and employees for this event and employee payroll contributions, the agency is able to provide the United Way of the CSRA with a total of almost $45,000. Most incredible, 88 of our 140 employees are Caring Club Members.
